It is uncommon for the SkyTrak Launch Monitor to fail to track your shots. If it is happening consistently, there are a number of possible issues to fix, detailed in the article below

1. Check that your SkyTrak Launch Monitor is:

  • Level and even with the playing surface.
  • At the same height as the surface you are playing from.
  • Parallel to the intended line of play.

2. Check ball or tee positioning:

  • If you are not using a tee, place the ball directly on the dot created by the laser.
  • If you are using a tee, place the base of the tee on the dot created by the laser.
  • Turn the ball so that the logo is facing the SkyTrak Launch monitor.

3. Protective case and SkyTrak Launch Monitor Unit.

  • If you are using a protective case, confirm that it is designed specifically for the SkyTrak Launch monitor, so that it is not interfering with the optics SkyTrak uses to record shot metrics.
  • Check that the SkyTrak Launch Monitor is not facing direct sunlight, resume play from covered position if possible.
  • Check the optics lens (black stripe in center of unit) for dust and scratches.
    • This is especially important in outdoor play, shoot from a tee when possible to avoid debris accumulation on the monitor. If obstructions are found, wipe the lens with a damp, clean cloth. No chemicals should be used.
  • Check that the SkyTrak Launch Monitor is between 11.5" and 12.5" from the ball.

4. Connection Problems:

  • If you are using a USB connection, inspect the ports on both the Launch Monitor and device running SkyTrak and confirm that they are intact and free of debris.
  • If you are using a USB connection, check the functionality of the cord by either testing on another household device, trying a different cord or inspecting both ends to rule out a physical issue with the inputs.
  • If you are using a network connection, check that the connection is strong.
  • If you are using Direct Connection, check that your device's connection to the SkyTrak network has not dropped.

5. Check if handedness matches session settings
