This will guide you through essentials as a user so you can get ready to enjoy your SkyTrak Launch Monitor .
- We recommend hitting off a mat designed specifically for golf. Place the ball or the base of the tee on the red dot projected by the laser. If a mat is not available, we suggest hitting a tee from the grass . Irons and wedges that hit directly off the grass create dirt and grass particles from the divots that can make for inconsistent shot capture.
- Note - The ball will be read even if it is not directly on the dot, itself. For higher speed clubs, such as your driver or woods, positioning the ball 1"-2" behind the laser may improve the SkyTrak's ability to read the ball. Likewise, for lower speed clubs, such as your wedges, positioning the ball 1"-2" in front of the laser may improve the SkyTrak's ability to read those shots.
- Depending on which clubs it seems to miss more often, try different ball positions around the laser to see where it reads the best with your setup.
- SkyTrak Launch Monitor performs well in overhead sun into the system during use. Direct sun into the optic lens of your SkyTrak Launch Monitor can create problems for consistent shot capture. If available, please hit from a covered area.
- Make sure the SkyTrak Launch Monitor is positioned on the hitting surface or at the same height as the hitting surface. Make sure the unit is at level as possible.
- Use a clean, white ball with a logo or a marked line. Set the ball up with the log or line facing the SkyTrak Launch Monitor for better spin readings, whether indoors or outside.
- Prior to an outdoor demo, pick out a target on the range and align the SkyTrak Launch Monitor so that it sits parallel to the intended target line.
