Solutions
Error Message: A file that is required cannot be installed
While installing TGC 2019, you may encounter this error message:
1. Open the Windows menu by either clicking the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen, or pressing the Windows key. Type: %localappdata% and press Enter.
2. Scroll down to find the "TGCSimulatorSetup" folder. Double click the folder.
3. Double-click the 432 folder.
4. Double-click the "setupfiles" folder.
5. Find the "data" file that was displayed at the end of the file path on your initial error message. In this case, it was "Data1.cab". Select and delete the file.
6. Repeat and continue the steps in the Installation Guide.
ProTee SDK not Connected or Started
This is a security issue. Windows access control or antivirus software may be preventing ProTee SDK from starting.
Before beginning any of these steps, reboot your computer.
1. Open File Explorer, and type in c:\programdata followed by the enter key
2. Right-click the ProTee United folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.
3. Click the Edit button.
4. Select the Users group.
5. Click the Full control Allow Check Box.
6. Click the "Apply" button and reboot your computer once more.
7. Deactivate and reactivate your TGC 2019 License key in both the TGC Console and TGC Interface.
You should now be able to begin play. If the issue persists, please contact support.
Error Message: SkyTrak app or TGC interface already running. Please close and check the system tray
Select the System tray in the bottom right corner of your desktop. You must close both the SkyTrak app and TGC interface. They are displayed as the SkyTrak logo and a red/green shield respectively.
Error Message: The TGC game cannot be found. Please check the directory in licensestatus.xml
Re-run the tgcsetup.exe installer provided to you by email. This will automatically replace the missing files.
Error Message: Direct3D11 compute shaders are not available.
This error indicates that your system is either incompatible, or not running the required version of DirectX (11 or later). To diagnose this further:
1. Press the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen and type "dxdiag", then press "Run".
2. The resulting window will tell you information about your computer and which version of DirectX you are running, system information, and which features DirectX has enabled.
DirectX updates within regular, scheduled windows updates. For this reason, if you have kept up with Windows updates but are still not running DirectX 11 or later, your system may be incompatible with the required versions of DirectX. If you have not updated Windows in a long time, do so and return to TGC 2019.
Error Message: The program can’t start because MSVCR100.dll / MSVCR120.dll / MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer.
A preferred way of mending this issue is to run your TGC 2019 setup wizard again and check ONLY the Microsoft C++ redistributables. Hovering over each check box will open a small dialog that indicates whether or not you have the package installed.
This issue is happening because you do not have the required Microsoft Redistributable packages installed. You can find the downloads available here. With this method, the download application should tell you which of the packages you do not have installed.
